...You Rock!!!

Hi folks!
Here is a card following a few challenges. I originally followed the sketch for Papertake Weekly, but unfortunately... it took me so long to complete that they're on to the next challenge. I hope it's OK to enter this weeks challenge which is Black, white and 1 colour (in my case pink). Stamp Something has asked for favourite sketches. I'm sure I'll be using this one again as it's great for larger images. Creative Card Crew wants 'Sparkles'. CCEE Stampers wants us to use Digital Images. For the option on Pollycraft Challenge I have chosen Spots and Swirls. Our Creative corner would like to see Black, white and 1 colour. Lastly Paperplay would also like to see spots.
For my card I embossed some textured hot pink card and rubbed over with an old black ink pad. On top of that I rubbed in some silver metallic rub on. I used a strip of DCWV spotty patterned paper which I screwed up and distressed with ink before adhering. The pink lips panel is another DCWV piece, this time from the Rock Star stack. I held this in place using Making Memories Square pink gem brads. I tore a square of vellum and embossed it using the Cuttlebug. The Rock Chix Drummer is a digi stamp available here. She has been printed onto Bristol Board and coloured with Copic markers. I also used Cosmic shimmer watercolours for the cymbals and the chrome parts of the drums. I used black pink and angel dust glitter to highlight certain areas of the image. I used glossy accents on the drums themselves to make them shiny. The sentiment is cut from Funky Foam using the Go Kreate 'Lingfield' alphabet and I have accented it with some confetti stars.
If you're still with me... well done... you can now reward yourself with a nice cup'o'tea :o)
Ciao for now!

Acetate Christmas Card & A Scrapbook Page

Hi Folks!
Thought I 'd share some more of the pieces I made for the September Craft Extravaganza. The card above was a little tricky to photograph as it is made using acetate. The paper is from K&Co's 'Swell Noel' range. I die cut the Snowflake from acetate using a Cuttlebug die and glittered around the edges (this card twinkles loads in real life) I die cut the letters using Go Kreate 'London' alphabet. The characters are part of my latest Kadoodle releases over at The Craft Barn. This one is called 'Holly Sledge' I have coloured them with Copic Markers and used Liquid pearls topped with glitter for the trim on their clothing. I finished off by covering the holly berries with glossy accents.
For the scrapbook page I basically used the same elements as for the acetate card above. This time I completely covered the acetate snowflake with glitter and the sentiment is cut from Funky Foam. The stamp I used here is called 'Trimming the Tree' A big white bow finished off this page nicely.

Just like to add a little 'toot' about how thrilled I am to have made the Top 3 scoops on the Pile it on Challenge last week

Photobucket

....and was also chosen as one of the Top 5 Stampers over on the Stamp Something Challenge blog. Thank you so much!!

Here's the 'chosen card' if you would like to take a peak

Sad to say 'Ciao' to the Sketch Saturday DT :o(

Hello folks!
It's with a heavy heart that I have to step down from the Sketch Saturday DT. I'm struggling with the whole 'family-work-house-craft-health' balance so my crafting is having to take a back seat. My children can have their Mummy back (and not the one that constantly says "I'm busy") and hubby may be allowed his wife back (teehee) I'm really sad to leave the team and it's not a decision I made lightly. I shall miss the Jo and the girls DT dearly. It was a pleasure and an honour to work alongside each of you, DT past and present. It's a perfect time for me to leave as Sketch Saturday are on the second phase of their DT Call and therefore the team can be extended by more members. For those of you who are chosen to be part of the team..... you will love it!!
Just a few details about my card. The stamps are by from the Regency set by Sheena Douglass, coloured in with a mixture of watercolours and pearl paints. The ribbon is by Cosmo Cricket and I have used a Martha Stewart punch for the boarder. I placed a strip of gold mirri board behind the punched out border. The corners are a Cuttlebug die again made using mirri board. I used my Xyron Design Runner for the sentiment.
I hope you get a chance to join in with my last week as a member of the Sketch Saturday DT... there is a great prize up for grabs too.
Ciao for now!

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp, Punches or Die Cuts

Hi folks! There's a new challenge over on Dare U 2 Digi Stamp and this time it's all about your punches or die cuts.... and of course your digital images. I hope you'll be able to join in. There is a prize up for grabs (please check the DU2DS for details) If you need some inspiration look no further than our fabulous design team who have created some wonderful cards.
The DU2DS team are going to miss the wonderfully gifted San who has decided to step down from the DT. Miss you already San!
For my card I have used Daisy and Dandelion snowflake paper and cut a circle aperture through the paper and card with my Nestability die. I adhered some patterned white vellum behind the aperture. Then I punched loads of medium and small white snowflakes. Each and every small snowflake I individually glittered I then layered the snowflakes up and glued them around the aperture. I recently discovered that you can buy sticky foam pads in A4 sheets which can be die cut using the Cuttlebug like a dream. I used this for the lettering and the corners (Quickutz) I then added glitter to the top layer of adhesive. My character is Holly and she is available on my Digi Stamp site here. I have coloured her using watercolours except for the fir trim on her clothing which I coloured using liquid pearls. I finished off by adding Glossy accents to her eyes (ooo that sounds painful but I can assure you, no digi images were harmed in the making of this card ;o)

A new baby Tag Book

Hello folks!
I just thought I'd share a little commissioned tag book that I made for a friend. It was lovely to scrap some baby photos. I really must catch up on scrapping some of my own baby photos. My little ones are now 4 and neither of them has a completed album yet.
The papers for this tag book were from a Daisy Dee's kit. the kit came with the rub ons I have used and also the information tag.
My friend was thrilled with the finished article.

A fairy card for Holly...and some news!

Hi folks!
Hope you are all well and making the most of the gorgeous weather. I had a bit of Crafters block last night...always happens when you need to meet a deadline. I'm due to take this card to a friend at work today and I just could not get started with it. As it is I'm not too happy with the colour of the fairy's dress... it should have been a much paler cream.
I ended up seeking inspiration from the following challenges. The Pink Elephant for the sketch, Cupcake Challenges for my distressed edges, Cute Daisy May for the heavily glittered and textured frame, The Saturday Challenge which is one for the girls, for Stamp Something I used one of my favourite paper collections and finally my signature flower punches for Pile it on.
My latest digi stamp Collection 'The Rock Chix' is available now here!

Also if you would like to see who made the top 12 in our recent Sketch Saturday DT call then look here.

My little Princess...

Hi folks!
Thank you so much to everyone who applied to join the Sketch Saturday DT. We had so much fun visiting all of your blogs. Such a lot of talented crafters out there. On to this weeks sketch, provided by the talented Jo. I think I'll pop it up in my daughter's room. It's so much more twinkly and sparkly in real life. I hope you decide to join in with the challenge. You may be the lucky winner that will receive a High Hopes stamp and some charms from Bunny Zoe's Crafts... this weeks sponsor.

I used papers by Imaginese and went over the swirls on the oval panel with my clear gel pen. I used my Nestabilities to cut the oval and scalloped oval. I glittered around the edge of the oval. The character is a sweet Gorjuss Girl that I have coloured with watercolours. I have glittered her crown and used cream pearl paint for her dress and also two of the panels on the polka dot papers. The sentiment is die cut from gold mirriboard (Boss Cut Die) as are the hearts (Centre of the Quickutz watering can die) I finished off the card with a sheer ribbon bow.
Hope you are all having a great weekend. It's my long weekend at work :o( I shall be shattered by Sunday night!!
Ciao for now!

Rock Chix.... Singer

Hi folks!
Here is one of my new (soon to be released on Sandra Dry Digi-Stamps) Rock Chix. For all those teenage cards that can be so difficult to create. For this card I followed the sketch on Stamp with fun (hope my digi-stamp is ok) I thought the sketch would be perfect for my Rock Chix with it's grungey boarder. The Saturday Challenge wanted cards for teenage boys, I think this card is grungey enough for a lad. Tuesday Morning Sketches would like to see ribbon, I found a perfect piece of turquoise ribbon and Paper Take Weekly's challenge is 'Faking it' I used glitter to fake the gold on her belt buckle and chain.
The papers and paper strips are from the Die Cuts With a View Rockstar stack. The ribbon is by American Crafts. The corners I cut from dark brown and blue funky foam, inlaying the blue floral swirl. I drew around my Nestability label die and elongated the sides and cut it out by hand to create the frame. Lastly I coloured my Rock Chix Singer using Prisma colour pencils, Sansodor and paper stumps.
More Rock Chix soon

Cute Christmas Advent Calendar

Hi Folks!
Here another little creation I made for the Extravaganza. It's a little advent calendar, but you could always stack the number panels the other way and it becomes a Christmas Countdown. It's an idea I came across while blog hopping but I'm afraid I forgot to take a note of the details. Lots of people at the show seemed to like it especially those crafting with children, for example Brownies and Youth Clubs. It could be a count down for any occasion. Just change how you decorate it and voila!
I used another Loupy Lou and Bobo new release. This one is 'Trimming the Tree' available now at The Craft Barn and online soon. I rounded the corners of a scrap piece of Mount board with my Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers) and covered it with papers by K&Co. There is a lovely sheet full of small square pictures and sentiments in the range which I cut up and added die cut numbers to (Go-Kreate, Amsterdam). They are then just stacked up and held onto theMount board with a clip. I coloured the image with Copic Markers; used liquid pearls for the baubles; stickles glitter glue for the tinsel and star and finished off Bobo's hat with some pearl paint. Lastly I used my Crop-a-dile to add the snowflake eyelets.
Hop on over to Christine's blog to see a piccie of the Three Crafting Musketeers (Christine Dark, Paula Pascual and me) at the end of The Extravaganza. We had so much fun and it was lovely to meet up with the other demonstrators and fellow bloggers! You'll have to read all about the Extravaganza on Christine's blog.... she'd so much more eloquent than me ;o)

My New Kadoodle Christmas Designs

Hi folks!
Thought I would share this simple slider card that I made for the Craft Extravaganza. It was really enjoyable to be able to demo to all the lovely crafters that decided to spend some time at my table. You know who you are! Thank you so much for saying 'hello' and making my weekend so special. My new Christmas designs seemed to be received well as they bought smiles to many a face :o)
Here you can see 'Holly Sledge' available at The Craft Barn and online soon, here. The cute Loupy Lou and Bobo having fun in the snow.
This card is so much prettier in real life. I embossed the centre panel with the recently released 'snowflake' embossing folder and added stickles glitter glue to each raised dot' Also all the fur trim and gloves are first painted with pearl paint to add dimension and then glittered on top. I hope you can imagine just how *twinkly* this card really is.
I have lots more cards to share from the Extravaganza so please pop back soon.
Ciao for now!

..a card for you....

Hi folks! Here's my offering for this weeks fabulous sketch over on Sketch Saturday. I'm sure you will enjoy using it as much as I did. My fellow DT have created some really lovely cards so please hop on over to be inspired!
The papers I have used on this design are by K&Company. I die cut the funky foam hoops using some Quickutz dies (one was from the engagement ring die and the larger ones were from the lense part of the camera die) The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch and I have added Stickles glitter glue to their wings. I coloured Tilda (Magnolia) using watercolours. To create the sentiment I used my trusty Xyron Design Runner and I filled in the heart in 'you' with some cream pearlidoodles.
I'm demoing at The Craft Extravaganza in Lingfield today and tomorrow.... wish me luck ;o)
Ciao for now

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge 21 a Sketch

Hi Folks! Hope you are all well. Please excuse that I haven't been around for a while. Life has been filled with 'Back to school' (and a new one at that) for my eldest and 'first day of school' for my twins. I have also been prepping for The Craft Extravaganza in Lingfield where I will be demoing this weekend (more info here) with my stamps only arriving on Wednesday and still having to do my shifts in my normal job it's been panic stations in the Dry household....and a few very late nights. Couple that with the early morning school run and having to get 3 children presentable and out of the house by 8:20am (not to mention the onslaught of book corner books, library books and reading journals that need completing....oh yes, and the 3 trips to school every day as the twins are half day until Christmas) you'll understand if I look a little haggard at the show ;o)
Moan up over... back to the Challenge. This week there is a fab sketch to follow designed by my pal Christine Dark. I have altered it to fit an A6 card as I wanted to use Chris' fabulous Vicky for this one. I coloured Vicky with watercolour pencils, cut a panel using my Nestabilities and ran this through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder. The flowers are punched, inked shaped and layered with dimensional glue gel. The flower centres are liquid pearls. The sentiment is from a Crafters Companion set.
Have a great weekend.
Ciao for now!

Coco's DT week on Sketch Saturday!

Hi Folks!
It's Coco's DT week over on Sketch Saturday and she has designed a wonderful sketch. I thought it has real pzazz and movement to it so I created this card with the running Hanglar girl. La Boit'a Scrap are this weeks sponsors and there are 20 Euros up for grabs for the lucky winner. I am thrilled to welcome Emma as our Guest Designer. See her gorgeous card and that of my talented fellow DT here.
As mentioned above I used a Hanglar stamp for this card and she has been coloured in with watercolours. The papers are by Cloud9. I used my Nestabilities to cut the circles. My Xyron Design Runner came in very useful when making this card. I printed out the 'Sorry' part of the sentiment ('it's late' is die cut funky foam) also the tyre tacks and the bubble borders are XDR. I cut the bubble border strips with my Fiskars deckle edged scissors and finished off the card with stickles glitter glue.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Ciao for now!
