Big Beautiful Buxom Birthday Bash

Hi folks!

It's our birthday over on Sketch Saturday and to celebrate not only do we have a fabulous prize from our regular sponsors, The Craft Barn, but you have 10 extra chances to win. The fabulous DT have agreed to give away their wonderful creations made for this weeks challenge, filled with a combination of stamped images and some surprise goodies. All you need to do to win my over sized crayon box above is to create something following this weeks sketch. Then leave a direct link to your creation here in my comments. Then hop over to my fellow DT blogs and leave comments on all of their creations for more chances to win. Don't forget to add your entry to the Sketch Saturday blog too. This 'party bag candy' will be open until 8am(UK time) on Friday 5th June. You can, of course, enter the Sponsors prize draw in the usual way until midnight on Friday. I hope I haven't lost you all ;) I'm not very good at giving concise instructions.

As mentioned above I decided to make an over sized crayon box, cut using my Cricket Expression, to house my stamped images and other goodies. Primrose, one of my own designs available at The Craft Barn has been coloured using Copics. I also used my Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Sizzlet tag die, hand stitching and buttons from my stash mountain.

I really hope you can join in with this weeks birthday bash and I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs and seeing how you have been inspired by this sketch.

Ciao for now!

Donna's Delightful Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Sketch

Hi folks!
It's Friday!!!! Dare U 2 Digi Stamp day and a delightful sketch from our very own Donna.  What a pleasure it has been working with this sketch.  Thank you Sweetie.  Also introducing 'Yolanda and Daddy' available soon from my Digi-Stamp Blog along with her brother Leo.
As well as following Donna's sketch I let Colour Create choose my colour scheme and I must say I really enjoyed using this combo.  The Background card is the totally yummy Co-Ordinations 'white wash' card that I embossed with a Fiskars embossing plate then distressed. The Brown card is by DCWV.  The ribbons and paper trim are a combination of American crafts and Doodlebug.  The flowers I cut with my fav Sizzix die.  I coloured the image in with a combination of Copics (for the skin) and Koi water colours (for the clothes). I finished off the the card with some pink self adhesive pearls and 'Go-Kreate' die cut letters.
I'll see you tomorrow for a really special Sketch Saturday Anniversary Celebration!!

Cutie Sunday and Top '5' at Cupcake Craft Challenge

Hi Folks!
Blogger is not playing ball with me today so only managed to upload one piccie of this card.  I'm sure you can imagine all the lovely layers and textures I have used.  I followed the sketch over on the Cutie Sunday challenge, it was a fun one to use.  The papers are from Cosmo Cricket.  I have used my Nestabilities, Quickutz corners and Go-Kreate Alphabet dies.  The Velvet ribbon is by American Crafts.  The image is a Hanglar stamp that I coloured with Copics and a touch of glitter for the 'Shampoo' in the glass. I used the 'off-cut' wire from the paper roses and twirled them around my pricking tool to create the coils.  I've just remembered.... the scalloped card is from Craftwork Cards.  This was a commission for one of my work colleagues.  Hope she likes it!
Ciao for now!

A card for Grandpa & ' I can't believe I won!'

Hi folks!
Here's my card for this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge.  It's another fabulous sketch by the talented Jo.  Sponsoring us this week is 'Victoria Case Art Design'.  Do hop on over to see the lovely prize and to feast your eyes on the wonderful cards by my fellow DT and of course our fabulous GDT Janneke.  Next week we're celebrating our first Anniversary , we'd love you to join in with the celebrations!
I made this card for my father-in-law from my kiddies.  I have used some leather from the swatch that he gave me once they had finished choosing their new suite.  He is so thoughtful always on the look out for things I may find useful in my card making.  I used a DCWV embossed card which I coloured using chalks and Cosmic Shimmer mist.  I got my needle and thread out hand stitched the rectangle. The Whiff of Joy chair and Magnolia Edwin are coloured using Koi water colour paints.  I finished the card of with some decorative brads and rub on letters from K&Co.
My HUGE news for the day is.......

I'm on cloud nine to think that my card was chosen to be the first 'Card of the Month' at Just Magnolia.  I can't thank them enough for choosing it.  I'm so excited to be able to display my new blinkie.  Thank you again!
Ciao for now

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge #8

Well, it's Friday again and time to print out those digi images and get creative with the 'Dare U 2 Digi Stamp' challenge.  This week it's 'One For The Boys'.  Have a look and see what the Design Team have come up with.  I'm sure you will find something there to inspire you and yet again they have come up with some stunning creations.
For my card I followed the sketch made by my fellow teamie Donna for the Cupcake Challenge.  I have turned it upside down to work better for my image.  'Daddy and Little one' will be available to buy from my digi-stamp blog very soon.  I have coloured the image with my Prisma colour pencils, Sansodor and paper stumps.   I used a text stamp, which reads 'Snips and Snails and puppy dogs tails', to create the background.  I think it's a Serendipity stamp but I've had it for so long I can't be sure.  I stamped the background with a versamark pad and dusted over with cosmic shimmer powder.  I have used tulle for the panels.  The ribbon and 'dummy' button are from my stash.  The frame I cut with my Nestabilities and the crystal brads are by Making Memories.  The font is 'fancy pants' which is a Cuttlebug alphabet.
I hope you are able to join in with this weeks challenge.  I would love to see your 'One For The Boys'.

A sneaky peek of my new 'Daddy' images

Hi folks!
Here's a peek at 'Bonnie and Daddy' one of my new designs that will be available soon at Sandra Dry Digi-Stamps.  Lots more fun designs to add to your collection coming soon.
For this card I used the Paper Take Weekly sketch, the Colour Create 'Sky Blue, Tan & Ecru' combo and The pink Elephant theme of 'Letters'.  The papers are a combination of DCWV and Papermania.  I also used my Cuttlebug  to emboss the cream panel. I used my 'Go-Kreate' alphabet dies for the letters.  The Velvet ribbon is from American Crafts,  the butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch (I love these... you may be seeing lots on my cards ;o) and  I dusted off my Prisma Colour pencils, Sansodor and paper stumps to colour the image. I finished off the card with some self adhesive pearls.
I think I'll save this card for my little girl to give to her 'Daddy'.

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp #7 Lilac & Lemon

Hi folks!
It's a colour challenge over on Dare U 2 Digi Stamp this week and what a pretty combo it is too... Lilac and Lemon.  The DT have provided a great array of designs for your inspiration so don't forget to hop on over to the site.  My Rosabella has dusted off her wings and come out to play for this card.
For the background I used a large foliage/vines stamp (QVC Foam Stamp) that I stamped with versamark ink and swirled Lemon & Lilac Cosmic Shimmer mica powders over with a dry brush.  I couldn't really capture the beautiful shimmer on the photo but if you click on the image you will be able to see more detail.  I used the same technique for the sentiment which is from Whiff of Joy.  I have used the Martha Stewart Lattice Arch border punch and butterfly punch.  The ribbons are from my stash.  Rosabella has been coloured with Copics and the Cosmic Shimmer Mica powders that I mixed with a tiny bit of water to produce perfectly toned shimmer paint. I have also added glitter to her hair and wings and have used a self adhesive pearl for the centre of the flower in her hair.  I then covered the whole stamped and coloured image with Glossy Accents encasing the glitter and even the pearl.
I hope you are able to join in with this weeks 'Dare' and I look forward to seeing your take on Lemon & Lilac.

My Biggest Challenge Combo Yet!

Hi folks!
I think I may have covered 7 challenges with this card.... let's see... I followed the 'anniversary' sketch over on Friday Sketchers, Just Magnolia wanted to see stitching (mine is faux), over on The Saturday Challenge they are asking for Brads or Eyelets (I had a perfectly coloured flower brad to go with these papers) The Cupcake Challenge wanted a card for a man or boy, Paper take Weekly has the theme of 'Animal Antics', My Time to Craft also has the theme of Kids and lastly Cute Card Thursday wants us to include Letters or Numbers....Phew, I think that covers them all :o)
For my card I used Imaginisce papers, Edwin (Magnolia) has been coloured using  Copic Markers and Koi water colours.  The large butterfly is a Quickutz die and for the smaller ones I used my Martha Stewart punch.  There is a coil of copper wire behind the butterfly which I hope suggests movement and goes nicely with the sketch.  I used my Go-Kreate Amsterdam alphabet to create the sentiment.

Gorjuss Girlies

Hi folks!!
Have finally got round to inking up these Gorjuss Girlies.  Tried to keep things simple on this card.  Followed the sketch from Mojo Monday. Colour Create wants us to use Blue & Green, The Pink Elephant has challenged us to use the same combo with the addition of white.  The theme over on A Spoon Full of Sugar is buttons.  You may need a magnifying glass for mine but I have added a tiny one to the sentiment (lost about half a dozen in the process!)
The paper and sentiment are from K& Co, the punch is a Martha Stewart border punch and I have used a combination of Koi Water colours and Copic markers to colour the Gorjuss Girls. It's much more sparkly in real life with the blue foiling on the backing paper and the touch of glitter on each girl.
Please take a mo to scroll down and see my newly released 'Holy Communion Boy & Girl' digi stamps. Thank you!
Ciao for now ;o)

Holy Communion Card

Hi folks!
Thought I'd share this card with you.  No challenges today but a commission instead.  Was asked to make a first Holy Communion card for my friends little boy.  My friend asked for a boy in a suit.  Unfortunately I didn't have any images or stamps that fit the bill so I set about drawing one.
This card is the largest I have made in a long time.  It's larger than A5 yet slightly smaller than A4. The patterned paper is from the DCWV luxury stack.  I embossed some pearl card with my swirly Fiskars embossing plate. The blue scalloped edge is a Doodlebugs paper frill and the ribbon is from my stash.  Lots of silver Mirri board on this card too.  The corners are a Cuttlebug die and I have used a Sizzlets alphabet, 'Night & Day' for the words.
Jake's mum is collecting it later today... hope she likes it :o)

Hi folks!
There are lots of birthdays in May...I made this card for one of my DT buddies who celebrates her birthday today! HaPpY bIrThDaY *Kim*
I followed the sketch over on Papertake Weekly and am entering this card to the Spoon full of Sugar Challenge who have asked for 'touchy-feely' cards. I have used Imaginisce papers. The red and white polka dot paper has a lovely glossy sheen to it. In contrast I have die cut (Quickutz) fuzzy velour decorative corners. There is also some satin ribbon on my design and lastly a soft layer of mulbery paper behind the main image. The rubber stamp is my own design, 'Home Sweet Home', and is available exclusively at The Craft Barn. I coloured the image with Koi water colours and finished it off with some glitter for Loupy Lou's fairy wings.

Sketch Saturday #50, Birthday Wishes

Hi folks!
A different sized card than my usual square card today. This one is an A5 card and I made it for my fellow DT Buddy *Wendy* who celebrated a special birthday yesterday.
The sketch is by the talented Jo for The Sketch Saturday Challenge. There is a smashing prize up for grabs. A $25 voucher for Simon Says Stamps could be yours if you are the lucky winner. Don't forget to check out all the fab crafty makes by the Sketch Saturday Design Team.

For my card I have used papers from the huge Cosmo Cricket set from QVC. The stamp is a Penny Black, I have coloured it in with my trusty Koi water colours. I have used a Martha Stewart border punch and the scallop blade for my carl trimmer to create the ornate border. The sentimement is Hot Off The Press. I finished off the card with some paper roses with green ribbon looped and adhered to suggest leaves. The ornate corners are die cut Cuttlebug shapes. You can hardly see them but I squeezed some three dimensional pearl paint onto the teddy's neck lace and the girls buttons.
If you would like to see some more detail to my cards then feel free to click on the picture to enlarge it.

Dare U 2 make a child smile this week

Hi folks!
This weeks challenge over on Dare U 2 Digi Stamp is all about Gingham and stitching. We're being sponsored by Post Pals (more about that in a mo) and there is a fabby prize on offer. If you like Martha Stewart's punches, then hop on over to the blog to see which one is up for grabs.
My card features Rosabella & Drake, they have been coloured in with Koi water colours and their wings have been glittered. The gingham paper is from a Joanna Sheen pack I've had for a long time. I hand stitched the swirls and added the butterfly button. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the doily border.

As part of the challenge this week. We have been asked to send our cards to one of the children on Post Pals. I have chosen to send mine to Bethany B Bethany is in the process of transferring to Adult services. I work with adults with severe learning and physical disabilities and so was naturally drawn to Bethany's story.
I hope you will be able to join in with the challenge this week and brighten a child's day.
Have a great weekend

Thank Heaven for You....

Hi folks!
Phew, what a weekend.... lots of working and driving kiddies to and from grandparents.  What would I do without m'Ma & Pa??  Hope you all had a lovely weekend and the weather didn't spoil your plans too much.
My card today is a multi-challenge card.  The Sketch is by the lovely Bev for Just Magnolia challenge,  the Saturday Challenge wants to see Flowers, Charisma Cards has a theme of 'Thank You' this week and Cute Card Thursday would like us to use something shiny for their 'Mirror, Mirror' theme.
I know I have only recently made a card with these Imagininsce papers, they were still on my desk and crying out to be used on this card.  I have also used my Nestabilities, Martha Stewart border punch and Doodlebug paper frills.  The swirl in the corner is an adhesive sheet, die cut with a Quickutz revolution die and sprinkled with glitter.  I added flower gems and leaves.  I coloured the cute Tilda Magnolia image with Copics, Koi watercolours and glitter.  The sentiment is from a Precious Moments angel set that I have.  There are lots of 'shiny' bits to this card, the glitter, the gems and the mirri card.
Hope you like it.

Sketch Saturday #49

Hi folks!
Just nipping on quickly in between horrendously long shifts at work this weekend to share my Sketch Saturday DT card with you.  This week is Debbie's DT week and she has come up with a fabulous sketch.  Our fab new GDT for the next 2 weeks needs no introduction as it is the talented Jacqui whom we all know and love.  If you are craving more inspiration then check out my fellow DT as they have all come up with stunning cards following Debbie's sketch.  There also a prize up for grabs with this weeks challenge, so hop on over to the blog to see what you could win.  When I saw there was a lovely circle on it I new exactly which stamp I was going to ink up...
I wanted to try something a little bit different with this card and I'm sure you have already noticed that I have not used any patterned papers.  I stamped the base card with a swirly stamp using a stamp & stick glue pad ( have had it for ages so am quite surprised that it still works) and sprinkled over some glitter. I used my Nestabilities to cut the circle for the aperture on the next panel.  I also used the Circle Nestie as a template for the rounded edges.  (You can actually see the next step better on the top picture.)  I die cut some small stars.  Glued two together and stuck to the panel (for height) repeated this until I was happy with the number of stars.  Then, using wet glue, I adhered dark blue mulberry paper over the whole aperture panel gently rubbing around the stars with an embossing tool.  I used my latest Martha Stewart punch for the scalloped boarder and Quickutz die for the corners.  The stamped image is one of my favourite Hanglars.  I have coloured him using koi watercolours and glitter for his star.  As you can imagine the whole card glistens a lot more than I have managed to capture in the photo.
Hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend....have some fun for me!
Ciao for now!

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp #5 My very 1st Sketch!

Hi folks!
Welcome to week #5 on Dare U 2 Digi Stamp!  This weeks 'Dare' is a sketch by 'moi'.  I love making cards using a sketch as my starting point but boy, they are not easy to draw.  I take my hat off to those who come up with fab sketches every week.  If you want some inspiration look no further then our talented DT.  I hope you are able to join in as I would love to come and see what you create with my sketch.
I re-sized, cropped and mirrored Chris's digi stamp of Vicky for my card.  She is coloured using Copics and distress inks. I love  how you can change your digi image  to fit your project rather than have to change your project to fit your stamp.  The pretty papers are by Imaginessence.  I have used my Nestabilities to cut the frame and the sentiment is a Bosskut die.  I finished off with some gems and ribbon. Oh, I nearly forgot to say, I cut out a tiny tiara from the patterned paper for Vicky to wear.
I was flabbergasted to see the number of comments I received for my previous card. It was a record for me :o) Thank you all so, so much.  I really appreciate each and every one of them.
Hope you have got fun things planned for Bank Holiday weekend.  I'm afraid life goes on at The Dry residence as both Adrian and I are working over the weekend.
Ciao for now!
