Sketch Saturday #36

Woweeee! What a fabulous response to last weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge. Thank you all so much for joining in. This week is being sponsored by Pollycraft Designs and Paula is offering two fabulous stamps from the new 'Sharing Sherbet' collection. These images are really fun check them out. Also don't forget to view the stunning creations from my fellow DT... they are all great!

Another fab sketch provided by Jo. This time I've used Basic Grey papers and cardstock stickers. The number has been die cut using my Cuttlebug and Hippie Chick number die. The image is my own 'Red Indian Dan', part of the Kadoodle range and available exclusively at the Craft Barn. I have coloured him using my Prismas, Sansodor and paper stumps. The feathers are from my stash mountain.
Hope you are able to join in with this weeks challenge. Have a great weekend.

Multi Challenges and more from Demo Day

Hi folks!
Here are more cards from the demo day I had at the Craft Barn last Saturday. For the Cowboy one I followed the sketch from the Sketch and Stash challenge. I thought the Sizzix belt and buckle were just the ticket for my little Cowboy Dan, from the Kadoodle range at The Craft Barn. The black & white paper is available at the shop and the white swirly hearts are made using my Cuttlebug. I have used the Go-Kreate alphabet, Amsterdam, and die cut letters out of funky foam for the sentiment. Cowboy Dan has been coloured in using Derwent coloursoft pencils and glitter.
It's too late to enter this challenge as they have moved on to the next week but I did follow the Cutie Sunday sketch #25. There is some movement on the card as the image is only held onto the card using the ribbon. The papers are DCWV and I have used my Nestabilities to cut the label shapes. My Clown, part of the Kadoodle range, has been coloured in as above and this time I have used the 'London' Go-Kreate alphabet for the sentiment.
These cards would fit in great with the Charisma Cardz Challenge which is to use Black & White and one other colour and also the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is Valentines creations.
I HAVE BEEN TAGGED!!!!!
....by Jackie over on Pink Diamond Workshop.... thanks Hun!!!

The instructions are,
1. Navigate to where you keep your pictures, select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Post the picture on your blog with an explanation about the picture.
3. Tag 6 others to do the same, and let them know they have been tagged!

And it's a picture of my eldest, Tommy. He was messing around that day and thanks to 'digi' I have about 30 shots of him posing and pulling all kinds of faces. I like this photo of Tom as the colours are quite neutral in it and I could go for any papers to make a scrapbook layout. Needless to say I have less opportunities for snapping Tom messing around in front of the camera now.... I suppose it's just not cool anymore.
I won't pass this tag on anymore as I think it's done the rounds. If you want to take it... be my guest.

Rosabella and Drake

Hi folks!
Just want to start with a huge thank you for your lovely comments about my new character Rosabella. Well here she is again and this time I'd like to introduce Drake too. Don't they just make an adorable couple?

I followed this weeks sketch challenge sk012409 over on Paper Craft Planet. It's the first time I've tried one of their sketches (will have to look into how to post on there/link it up later as I'm off to work in a mo) I haven't tidied my craft table since the last card so, you guest it, I used the same Basic Grey papers again. The flourish boarder is made using my Cricut Expression and that adorable Storybook cartridge. The corner flourishes are a Cuttlebug die. I cut the gold mirri board free hand with my trusty deckle edged scissors. I coloured Rosabella and Drake with my Prismas and added glitter to their wings and to the flower in Rosabellas hair. That's pretty much it.
Thanks also for the photography tips...am I getting any better?

Friday Sketchers & Cute Card Thursday Challenges

Hi folks!
Here is another of my images, this time 'Rosabella Wish'. For this card I have followed the sketch over on Friday Sketchers. Had a bit of a struggle threading the ribbon through and attaching it to the back... I went all a bit fingers and thumbs as I used sheer ribbon with ric rac layered on top. I didn't let it beat me and am glad with the result. The papers are the same as those on my previous post. I think they suit little Rosabella really well. I've had the metal coil on my stash for ages and the leaves and flowers are from my Storybook Cricut cartridge. I have coloured Rosabella with my prismas and glittered her delicate wings. They are much more sparkly in real life.
Any tips on photographing my card would be gratefully received. I am also entering this card into the Cute Card Thursday challenge which is to create a scene. Do hope you like my card.

Something new and 3 challenges in 1

Hi Folks!!
Wow! What a fabulous day at The Craft Barn yesterday. Met lots more lovely crafters doing their second favorite thing... shopping for crafting goodies. But more about that and pictures of my demos later this week.
It's wet 'n' windy here on the usually sunny south coast which means more crafting for me! Yay! As the heading suggests I have combined 3 challenges with this card. For this weeks Basic Grey Challenge there is a recipe: 2 patterned papers (mine are from the BG sugared range, precious and charming.) 1 button (I have used a heart/love button) 1 ribbon and bow and lastly 3 brads. I am also entering the Charisma Cardz Challenge which has the theme of 'love and the lili of the valley' challenge which is 'Valentine'.

Don't you just adore my beautiful Rosabella? Bit bias here as I drew her... but I think she's lovely ;o) I've used my prismas, sansodor and paper stumps to colour her and I've added a touch of glitter to the detail on her delicate fairy wings. I used my nestabilities to cut the precious BG paper and inked the edges with my Brilliance dewdrop pads. That's pretty much it, so another simple card from me today.

Sketch Saturday #35

Hi Folks!!

Can you believe it's Saturday again?..... How about, were nearly into February? Beats me, the weeks seem to be flashing by lately. Let's not think of nasties like that when there is another one of Jo's glorious sketches on The Sketch Saturday Challenge. This weeks sketch is sponsored by Emma Lockley, Emma is an independent Stampin Up demonstrator. For more details of the fabulous prize up for grabs and how everyone who enters the challenge will benefit hop on over to Sketch Saturday. Don't forget to check out the fabulous designs from my fellow DT members. A real mixed bag this week... a little something for absolutely everyone!

A quick card from me today. The papers are Papermania, The buttons and chipboard sentiment sticker I've had in my stash for ages. The swirl stamp was a freebie on one of the current cardmaking magazines, the name escapes me right now but I'm sure one of you will remember before I will. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these freebie stamps and am sure they'll become firm favourites. I have embellished the swirls with ivory pearlidoodles. The gorgeous image is 'Bearing Love' and he is from Sketching Stamper Digi Stamps , the uber talented Christine Dark has opened her own Digi Stamp site. So hop on over to check out more of her beautiful designs. I have coloured my bear with prismas, sansodor and paper stumps.

Hope you are able to pop into The Craft Barn today as I'll be demo-ing and it would be great to see you.

Hugs

Ismaki Challenge & Demo Day!

Hi Folks!!
You'll have to excuse me today... I'm being a manic mum (shouldn't really be on the pooter) But just had to share with you that I'll be demoing at The Craft Barn tomorrow. I'll be taking this card and more pieces of the 'be mine collection' don't miss out.... come and craft with me.
More details about this card, awards and New Digi shop opening later...

** Hi again folks...

A little more detail about this card.
I followed this weeks Ismaki Sketch Challenge. I found this one a little difficult but I'm pleased with the results. The backing paper has been in my stash for a long time, I think it's DCWV. I have used the 'Divine Swirls' and Swiss Dots' Cuttlebug embossing folders. I have also used my Rectangle and scalloped rectangle Nestabilities. I cut the circles with a large sizzix die (it's been a long time since I used any of those) The sentiment is a Go-Kreate alphabet, 'Amsterdam' and the hearts are Cuttlebug. The beautiful lady is my very own 'Petunia', she's part of the Kadoodle range available at The Craft Barn. I coloured her with Derwent coloursoft pencils and Glitter.

My good friend Christine Dark has opened her own Digi Download site... You'll find it if you click Here. I do not need to tell you how talented Chris is as I'm sure you already know. Her designs are B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and very reasonably priced. Hop on over and feast your eyes... then fill your baskets!
Pop back here tomorrow if you'd like to see how I've used 'Bearing Love'

Sketch Saturday #34

Hello folks!
It's Saturday......it's Sketch Saturday Challenge time again. Jo has come up with another fun Sketch, all those lovely layers to work with. 'Fun' is what I had in mind when I stamped the gorgeous Primrose. 'Aint she a beauty!! Be sure to check out all the wonderful designs my fellow DT have come up with.
My fun card has been made with DCWV papers and card. I think the eyelets came with my Big Bite. I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the circle layer and my Nestabilities to cut out the circles and scallop circles. I coloured in Primrose (from the Kadoodle range) using Derwent coloursoft pencils for her skin (didn't come out too well in the photos... I think my photography is getting worse not better... help!) I used a mixture of twinkling H2O's and cosmic shimmer watercolours for here attire and I finished off with cream pearlidoodles for the ice-cream.
I hope Primrose brings a little Sunshine to your day.
Please join me in saying farewell to Emma who is stepping down from Sketch Saturday DT. I am sure you will agree that her work is truly inspirational. It was great working with you Emma and I hope that you will have more time in the future to enjoy your craft again. Miss you!
Hugs

** I forgot to add that I die cut the letters using Go Kreate dies, London alphabet. I used some fab stuff. Do you remember 'sticky backed plastic'? Well this is 'sticky back velour' lovely stuff. It's like the cheats version of flocking. (I got mine at Hobbycraft)**

Another multi-challenge card

Hi folks!
I have just uploaded these two images and they look like two completely different cards to me. All that has changed is I laid the card down for the second shot so I could share the depth and dimension of the elements... weird.
Anyway... I have managed to combine three challenges for this card. The first being the Sketch and Stash Challenge #1 yep, it's their first week. I love that you have to use a new/newish purchase, mine are the patterned papers and the die. To link in with this I'm entering for Cute Card Thursday #42 where this week the challenge is to use something we got for Christmas and lastly Stamp Something have set the challenge for no stamping allowed..... oh poop! ... I've just realised I stamped the sentiment. Oh well, never mind.

The patterned papers are Papermania. DCWV textured cardstock. The character is a Sizzlets die which I cut in various colours, cut and layered up. I have added some extra colour with my Koi watercolours. You can just make out that I have added glossy accents to the bubbles in the bubble bath. The flower is a Boss Cut die what has a faux pearl in the centre. I have also used liquid pearls in the corners.
It was quite refreshing to piece a die cut together rather than stamp.

A multi-challenge layout

Hi Folks!!
I have been meaning to do a bit more scrapbooking. Looking forward to keeping my creations rather than giving my cards away. (How greedy am I!) and.... I have discovered some cracking scrapbook challenge blogs that work along the same lines as the card challenge blogs that I am more used to. Thought I'd give it a go. For this 12 x 12 page I followed this weeks challenge on A Page From My Sketch Book, by Liz Weber. As you can see I haven't strayed too much from the sketch this being my first go at a scrapbook challenge.
The papers, grand adhesion's and chipboard stickers are K&C0. The 'mimi' cardstock stickers are Papermania. I cut the bracket using my Cricut Expression and Storybook cart. The blue die cut flowers are a Boss Cut die that I have. I finished off with some ribbon from my stash.
The photo's are of my daughter Isabelle (who we lovingly call Mimi) taken back in Nov 2006. She's one of my twins and found it funny that there were two pictures of her on a layout and not one of her and one of her twin brother Ben.
I am also entering this layout in The Saturday Challenge where it's 'anything but a card' week. Over on Lili of the Valley challenge blog it's an anything goes week. Also it's the first week over on Charisma Cardz Challenge the theme is 'pink'. I'm hoping there is enough pink on my creation to qualify.
Have a great Monday evening!

Sketch Saturday #33

Howdy folks!! Hope you're all keeping warm wherever you are... it's freezing here! This is my card for this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge which is another one of Jo's fabulous sketches. This week has been sponsored by Pink Gem Designs. If you love 'cute' images as much as I do then hop on over to her site and meet the family! If you are quick you can enter for the fabulous candy that's up for grabs at PGD... the draw is tomorrow!
My card is quite simple. I had my big brother in mind when I made it as it's his birthday later on in the month, so no glitter or frills on this one. The papers are American Traditional Designs, The background image is from Alota Stamps. For the sentiment I used my Xyron Design Runner and the stars are brads. I embossed the bottom Green panel with fiskars texture plate 'fabric'. Cowboy Dan is one of my own designs that I drew for the Kadoodle range sold exclusively at The Craft Barn. I'm still playing with my Koi watercolours and that's what I used to add colour to the stamped images.
Please take a look at all the wonderful creations made by my fellow DT. It always amazes me how varied and unique the cards are when we follow the same sketch.
Ta ta for now!

Sketch Saturday #32

HaPpY nEw yEaR folks!!

Hope you all had a cracking time seeing the New Year in. I was making my Sketch Saturday DT card when the Big Ben Dongs were going, start as you mean to go on, that's what I say.

I thought I'd use some some nice fresh colours for this card. Had a play with my new Koi watercolours. What do you think? I think I need more practice, but it made a nice change from my prismas. The papers and textured card are DCWV. I have also used some pale pink glitter board. I have used my Cuttlebug to emboss a layer. The flowers are Prima, I have added glitter and a large brad to each. The characters are Precious Moments (a kit from QVC that sold out very quickly and they haven't managed to get back) It hasn't come out great in the photo but I've used glitter on some of the clothing and hair accents. I have also used a Sakura glaze pen over the eyes.

I hope you are able to join in with this weeks challenge. It's a great opportunity to play with your new crafting goodies. If you'd like to share I'd love to hear what Father Christmas brought you Crafty-wise.... you can use it as a confession session if you like ;o) I received my Koi watercolours, the accessories kit for my Design Runner, WRMK Magnetic Cutting mat set, K&Co Mira kit, K&Co Fabric shoulder bag, Papermania alpha stickers (set of 10)and a voucher to spend at The Craft Barn....can't wait to spend that one!! As you can see I've been very spoilt this year.

Don't forget to have a look at the wonderful creations made by my fellow DT members.. they're a talented bunch!!

Just been reminded by Jeanette, and her wonderful blog, that it's Emma who is hosting this week as it's her birthday. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Emma all the best. There is also a goody bag up for grabs provided by the lovely Emma who is also a sponsor.

Hugs
