Hello folks! If you'd like to join in with the January challenge over on Scrapology then you have until the 5th Feb to submit your entry. There is a wonderful page to scraplift by the American scrapbook artist Laura Vegas and the additional requisite is to include lots of letters.
For my page I used papers from Heartfelt Creations and followed the layout quite closely. I die cut all my letters from funky foam using a variety of alphabet dies. I punched a small scalloped boarder on the photo mat and added tiny pink gems to each scallop. The larger scalloped pieces at the bottom right were chipboard that I covered with patterned paper before adding the gems. I also covered the word 'WORLD' with brown glitter and used Stickles on 'SMILES' and 'TOO'.
I very much liked the trees on Laura's page and set about to create some with a similar feel. I cut the tops of the trees using Nestabilities from the patterned papers and the tree trunks from Kraft card using a Quickutz die that I have had for years! I finished them off with some more gems.
The page looked quite dark until I added all the bling ;)
I hope you have a chance to join in with this great challenge. There is some inspirational pages created by my fellow DT over on the blog for more ideas for your creation.
Ciao for now!
