Isabelle's Art Parts and Steampunk Dreams

Hello folks!  It's been a bit of a challenge photographing this piece today and I'm afraid I haven't quite captured the magic so you'll have to sprinkle a bit of imagination as you glance over these shots.  I made this piece with the Creative Expressions DT call, texture challenge, in mind.

I took 3 of the large rectangle Art Part frames and 1 large rectangle solid (the long side of the rectangle is 5.5").  I covered the solid rectangle with papers from the Prima Tea Tyme pad.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment 'Why fit in when you were born to stand out' from Sam Poole's Steampunk Dreams stamp set, in gold embossing powder adding fabulous texture.  I also used flitter glue, and the small cogs stamp from the set with variegated red/gold gilding flakes on the frame, background and also the base of the piece (a smaller rectangle Art Part).  I cut out a photo of my daughter Isabelle and gave her some wings.  I stamped and embossed the wings from the main piece from the stamp set and coloured them with glitter. (so sparkly in real life) I heavily glittered the wings to give another texture.  I cut them out and added them to the piece.
I stamped one large and 2 small butterflies from the stamp set with Stazon onto soft copper craft metal.  I turned the butterflies over and added some texture with an embossing tool.  I cut them out and adhered to craft wire.  I inked the petals on some Prima petals, layered them up and adhered using hot glue.
I die cut the letters from the Copper Craft Metal and adhered using the hot glue gun.  Quite fiddly but definitely worth it... I love the smooth texture of the shiny letters against the fabric feel of the flowers.
I added some craft wire swirls and couple of Metal Corners for a finishing touch.  I'm really pleased  with how this turned out.  Isabelle has really enjoyed seeing herself with wings!!
Hope you are having a great week
Ciao for now!!
