Hello folks!! There is a fabulous new challenge over on Scrapology this month. We're scraplifting a lovely page by SJ and the theme is P is for Patchwork. Now, when I saw the sketch for the layout (see here) the colours 'black and white' jumped out at me. Then I remembered this photo of Tommy in the 'Alice in Wonderland' maize at Disneyland Paris and thought it would fit the bill.
'Painting the roses red' is one of my favourite songs from the film and so I set about making some white paper roses and painted them red. I used the leaves as journalling space
I cut through both the black and white sheets at the same time to make sure the 'free-hand' cuts fit together. I made wavy cuts to reflect the surreal nature of Alice in Wonderland. As you know I love texture on my creations and so I embossed each black and white piece before adhering.
I hope you'll be able to join in with the challenge. There is a fabulous prize up for grabs, details here.
If you need lots of scrummy inspiration check out the fabulous pages made by my fellow DT.
Ciao for now!
