The Official Joanna Sheen Challenge blog!!

Hello folks!  Well here I am with another announcement..... The news is out! .... The Official Joanna Sheen Challenge blog goes live on 1st December and I'm on the design team! Yay! (ok that's enough exclamation marks for now) To celebrate the launch we will be having a blog hop during the week running up to the first challenge.  There are 9 prizes up for grabs... one with each of the DT members (super talented gals).  It will be from 24th-30th November.
What better way to share the news than with a House Mouse card.  I made this one for Joanna's recent HM launch on Create & Craft.  The papers are by Papermania.  The image is coloured using Alcohol Markers.  I have used my Cricut  to die cut the the lattice border, the leaves, the oval and scalloped oval frame.  The flower is die cut using Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Sizzix die.
I used my Nestabilities to die cut the parenthesis square mats for my sentiment.
And added self adhesive pearls for the finishing touch.
I hope you'll be able to join in with lots of challenges over the coming months.  I can't wait to see what we create together.
Ciao for now!

Scrapology - November Card Challenge - 'House Mouse'

Hello folks!  Can you imagine my delight when I saw that our lovely Joanna Sheen is sponsoring this months card challenge over on Scrapology?  How apt for my first challenge on the team.  Be sure to hop over here to enjoy all the cards made by the talented DT and, of course, Joanna herself.
I had to use the 'Three Wise Mice' stamp set teamed with my favourite Christmas paper by K&Co.  I'm sad to report that this is the very last of my lovely paper.  Hence the small card... it can't be wider than 5 inches. I coloured the image with alcohol markers, cut and layered using my Nestabilities.  I rubbed some gold metallic rub-on around all the brown edges.  I added a sheer ribbon bow and holly leaves punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  I finished off the card by adding some flat backed red beds and glossy accents to the berries in the picture.
I hope you will be able to join in with this months House Mouse Challenge.  I look forward to seeing your creations.
Ciao for now!

First Aid kit House Mouse 'Get Well' card

Hello folks!  Well what fantastic shows on Create and Craft this weekend... including our Joanna and Jo.  I though the design team excelled themselves with the gorgeous samples.  Well done teamies.
This is the card I made showcasing the House Mouse 'Doctors orders' stamp set.  I stamped and coloured the image using alcohol markers and used my Nesties and Cricut to create the tag.  The first aid kit bag I drew freehand and cut out.  I stitched all around the edge with white thread.  I used my Cricut and Gypsy to create the white cross.  I attached the tag to the bag with a ribbon bow.
You can really see the stitching from this angle.  The handle was colours using the marker too.
Being in the Brighton Congress Hall Salvation Army band I was in the Remembrance Day Parade this morning.  The Sun was shining.  It was a beautiful day (my hat didn't fly off this year while I was marching and playing going past the pier as it normally does) It was a very poignant moment when our lovely Cyril (in his 90's and still playing in our band) laid the wreath on behalf of BCH.  I shall never forget.
Enjoy what is left of the weekend.
Ciao for now!

Fox cub and butterfly card

Hello folks!.... a quicky today as I'll be off to rehearsals for our Christmas Show at church soon.  I made this card to showcase the Giordano Forest Friends Little Fox set.
This card is actually quite large for me. The bottom portion is an A5 tent fold.  The stamping has been done with distress inks and lightly water coloured.  I used mica paints on the raised spots.
That's all from me today folks.  Be sure to pop back tomorrow as I can share some exciting news :o)
Ciao for now!
