Traditional Christmas Card

Hello folks.  Hope you are well and enjoying your weekend.   Here's a card I made using a cute Giordano        Father Christmas stamp set.  I adore the way the Giordano brothers draw.   I'm afraid I'm a bit of a 'cute' fiend. I popped this picture at the top as it captured the true colours a lot better than the one bellow.  I'm not sure what happened (my photography no doubt) but just imagine the colours above on the picture bellow.
The tartan backing is actually from a packet of tissue paper that I bought to make Adrian and my first Christmas cards as a married couple back in 1994, making it 17 years old!!  I knew it would come in handy again.  The flowers are die cut using my Cuttlebug, shaped inked and adhered.  The image is stamped, water coloured, slightly decoupaged and finished off with a touch of glitter.  Ribbon, decorative corners, a die cut label and some red gems were all added to the mix.
I have been busy with my DT samples which are packed and ready to post tomorrow so I'm hoping to catch  up with you in blogland soon.
Ciao for now

Fox and butterfly 'magic slider' card

Hello folks!  I hope you are all well.  Here's a card I made using the Little Fox stamp set.  Another very sweet stamp set designed by the Giordano brothers.  I thought I would have a go at making a 'Magic Slider' card.  There is a tutorial here.  I made mine in pretty much the same way except to stop the whole image sliding out when pulled I added a couple of butterflies to the acetate layer.
I cut my circles and scalloped circles with my Cricut machine.  The bottom layer I stamped and coloured with my alcohol markers (I use a combination of Promarkers, Copics and Spectrum Noirs) as I wanted the image to be nice and bright.  The image on the top layer is stamped on acetate with Stazon ink.
I adore the cute butterfly stamp that comes with the set and used it to decorate the frame and create the little stopper on the acetate.  The tab at the top is also cut on my Cricut.  I added some die cut letters and a ribbon bow.  The finishing touch was glitter to the butterflies, you can see that better in the first pic.
Have a fabulous week.
Ciao for now!

House Mouse 'Mice and Cosy' card

Hello again folks!  I hope you have had a splendid weekend.  Here's another card that I made with those cute House Mouse stamps, this time from the 'Mice and Cosy' plate.
I took the knitted background image (originally in pinks...see previous post) from the House Mouse inserts CDrom and popped it on my MCS graphics programme and changed the colour from pink to blue.  I cut all the circles and scalloped circles on my Cricut.  I coloured the image with Prisma colour pencils.  The sentiment is stamped from the set.  I finished the card off with a ribbon tied button and a larger white ribbon bow.
Ciao for now!

House Mouse 'Get Well' card

Hello folks!  It's been a while. I hope you are fine and dandy.  Here's a card I made using one the the stamps being launched today on Create and Craft.  When I saw the little mouse 'mending' his little toy I thought it would make a great 'Get Well' card.   I also thought a warm and cosy hot water would be a great card base.
I drew the hot water bottle shape on some sturdy card and covered it with backing paper from the House Mouse CDrom.  I stamped, coloured the mice with my Prisma colour pencils, cut them out and layered them up.  I adhered them to some loops of ribbon onto the card.  The letters are cut from funky foam using a Cuttlebug alphabet and topped with some Stickles glitter glue.  I finished off the card with a ribbon bow.
Enjoy your weekend
Ciao for now!
