Sneak Peek at my 'Enchanted Forest' designs

Hi folks! The wait is nearly over.... My fairy stamp designs are being launched by Joanna Sheen this Sunday, 11am (Sky671) I can't wait! Joanna always has fantastic videos of samples made by the Design Team on her website and I've popped the one with my designs above. The DT have done a fantastic job.

I'm away at a scrapbooking retreat this weekend. Methinks I'll have to sneak out with the laptop and go find a wifi spot at 11am on Sunday.... There's never a McDonalds too far away, tee hee.

I hope you can tune in on Sunday.

Ciao for now

A family card from Times Gone By

Hi folks! Have been meaning to blog for ages...... but I've been soooo busy, please excuse me. Missed you all lots. Hoping to catch up soon. Today I am sharing a card I made using the Glynn Williams 'Times gone by' cdrom. When using a cdrom I always head straight to the decoupage section as I love the dimension they create once the cards are made up.
I printed out the backing paper from the cd. I felt it was a little too strong so I decided to add a sheet of vellum on top. To add a some interest I used my embossing board to score some lines on the bottom half. I thought it gave the impression of wallpaper and so I adhered some ribbon across the middle to look like a dado rail.
Here is a peak at the inside. Just a little matting and layering (using my Nestabilities) a ribbon bow and the sentiment printed from the cd.
Before the school run this morning I took a moment to write down in my diary 'what's happening' in December in the Dry household.....and it's crazy! Nativity shows, carolling with the band (and other band engagements), Christmas fairs, puppet shows (my eldest is in the puppet group at church) Panto show (twins drama club) .... and that's just off the top of my head! I may not be around too much, but I'll try. I really want to share my samples for the next Joanna Sheen show, which is on this Sunday at 11am Create and Craft (Sky671) as it's the launch of my stamp designs as well as the beautiful cdrom by Josephine Wall. I hope you will be able to catch some of the show.
Must dash... school run beckons.
Ciao for now!

A card for him.

Hi folks! Here's another card made using the Glynn Williams CDrom. This time a male themed card. The images are quite stunning so I kept the card quite simple.
A bit of matting and layering with some silver mirri card and blue glitter cardstock is all that I did. I added some thick string and some nautical buttons anchoring one down (pardon the pun) with some die cut Nestability shapes.

I thought it would be fun to write on a ship shape (I'm full of one liners today!) so I cut this one using my Cricut. A few knotted ribbons finished the design.
Well, I've sent off the first batch of samples using my, soon to be released, rubber stamps to Joanna Sheen. I hope Joanna and her team like them.
I'm a bit late with making my Christmas cake this year, and if I'm going to get it done today I'd better get cracking!
Ciao for now!

A large card and some exciting news!

Hi folks! I'm sure you all know by now just how much I love making diddy little cards.... well this one is completely the opposite. It's huge! Almost A4 in size, it's a real whopper.
I used the recently released Glynn Williams 'Times Gone By' CDrom to produce the main image. I printed the backing paper onto pearlescent cardstock which gives it a beautiful sheen. I adhered the main image using high tack double sided tape so I was able to create the curve. I bought some sheets of plastic ,when I was at the show at Ally Pally, which can be heated and moulded (but doesn't shrink). I coloured a section of it with Copic markers and cut some leaf shaped with Sizzix dies before heating and moulding them. I adhered some of them to the card using dimensional glue gel and dangled a few to the ribbon that I tied to the spine of the card. The sentiment is also from the CD and I matted it onto some card that I had punched with an EK Success border punch. The finishing touch this time was a decorative corner that I made using a Cuttlebug die.
Wish I was able to get to the NEC this weekend... but alas, I'm not. I hope everyone has a fantastic time. Lots to look forward to this month. I'm away for a Scrapbooking weekend on 27th. I'm going to have to research where I can find a wifi point nearby as I can't miss Joanna Sheens show on Create and Craft (SKY 671) on the Sunday as she is launching some of my designs as rubber stamps!! I'm sooooo excited, but really nervous at the same time. Every time I think about it I get butterflies in my tummy. I'm having so much fun making the samples for the show. I hope you'll be able to watch too.
Ciao for now!
