Ye olde Christmas Card

Hi folks! Here's another Christmas card this time made with the 'Merry Christmas' Giordano stamp set. I made the background paper by stamping the little drum image (from the set) and embossing with copper embossing power. I used a scrap of copper mirri card, which I scrunched up, and adhered across the card near the bottom. I dug out some microflute card (in my stash for years) tore a piece and applied some copper metallic rub on to the raised areas. I tied some fibre around the microfulte card before adhering. I stamped the image using Sepia versafine, lightly watercoloured, tore around the edges and distressed with inks.
The sentiment is also from the stamp set. I stamped, embossed, cut out, shaped with my fingers and adhered using dimensional glue gel. For a finishing touch I used my Papermania Christmas wax seal set to create the little Christmas tree seal. I embedded some tiny pieces of red ribbon and glitter before it dried.
For the inside I stamped the cute holly image that also comes from the stamp set and repeated the greeting.
Ciao for now!

Jolly Snowman/Santa circular penny slider

Hi folks! So pleased that this card turned out just as I had hoped. Really love the gorgeous Giordano 'Snowman' stamp set. I made a circular penny slider card. It took a while to get the 'mechanics' right, but I got there in the end.
The backing paper is by Dovecraft. I used Copic markers to colour the stamped image. I die cut the image with my largest Nestability circle. I made a large square panel of the backing paper and cut a circle out using my WRMK circle cutter (this took lots of practice on copier paper to get the size right.) I adhered the square panel onto the front of the card with adhesive foam pads. I then popped the stamped image into the middle also adhered with foam pads. This left a circular gap around the main image for the penny slider to role.
I stamped the main image again, this time only colouring and cutting out the Father Christmas. I also die cut an acetate snowflake (Cuttlebug) and glittered the edges. I then took a penny, popped a circular foam pad in the centre, topped it with another penny then the snowflake and finally the Father Christmas. You can just about see one of the pennies I used in the photo above. I put the Snowflake slider in position and made sure it rolled smoothly. I finished the card off with some decorative corners (Sizzlets) and a ribbon bow on the panel at the bottom.
Ciao for now!

Vintage Christmas Shaker card

Hi folks! Here's another Christmas card from me and one of my fav's from the last DT batch that I sent to Joanna Sheen. The image is from the 'Season's Greetings' Giordano Christmas rubber stamp set.
I altered the background paper (Dovecraft) by spritzing with pearl Glimmer Mists and 'That special touch of Mica' gold mists and inked the edges. I stamped the image with Sepia Versafine and lightly watercoloured it. I then popped the image into a little cellophane card bag (the ones that you put finished cards into) and added some tiny beads and little flakes of mica. I then used my hot melt tool (have had this for years and hardly used it... the type of tool that's used for pyrography with interchangeable tips) to melt and seal the edges. Once cooled I added some distressed stickles to the edges too. I cut an acetate snowflake using a Cuttlebug die and changed the colour using a Copic Marker. I attached this to the card using a decorative snowflake brad. I was brave and stamped the sentiment in the bottom left hand corner straight onto the backing paper. I created a few swirls on the front using the tiny beads (Yes, I glued them on individually!) and finished off the card with a large sheer ribbon bow.
More Dovecraft paper on the inside and some mats created with my Nestabilities.
I think I might just have to make this card again so that I can have one at home.
Ciao for now!

Back from Hols & Giordano Christmas

Hi folks! Can you believe that I was a poorly Poppet towards the end of my holiday and really quite ill when I came home :o( I thought holidays were supposed to be good for you! I'm on the mend (Yay) and catching up everything... so I'm chasing my tail as usual. I hope you were able to catch Joanna Sheen's latest live show on Create and Craft. She launched the most adorable Christmas Stamps from the Giordano studios. I made this card using Teddy Christmas stamp set.
I cut the card shape myself. I hope you can see how I did it from the photo above. I stamped and watercoloured the image. Die cut it out using my Nestabilities, Square dies. I cut the gold scalloped layer with my Scalloped Square Nesties. I adhered the main image to the back of the card.

I stamped, coloured, cut out, shaped and adhered some extra Christmas stocking images to the front of the card. The message is also stamped from the set. I curved the card before attaching to the front of the card with a decorative snowflake brad on top of some thin red ribbon. which I had curled to the top of the card.
Hope that's ok.... my brain is still a bit foggy.
Ciao for now!

Off on our holibobs.....

Hi folks! So sorry I haven't been around much lately. I have been busy creating my latest batch of Joanna Sheen samples. Joanna is launching some more gorgeous stamps (not to be missed) on Saturday 14th 11am and Sunday 15th 11am on Create and Craft (Sky channel 671 or you can watch on their website) Now I'm up to my eyeballs in packing as we're off on our holibobs tomorrow..... hence the card ;o)
Thought it would be fun to revisit one of my buxom beauties. Details here if you would like them. We'll be back in a couple of weeks. No doubt in a flap trying to get ready for 'back to school'. It means more change in the Dry household as my eldest starts secondary school and I start a new job!! I'm looking forward to being a TA in a local primary school. No more working ghastly long shifts, evenings and weekends. I shall really miss everyone at my current job. It's hard work but we make it so much fun and I adore all the residents too. Sometimes you just gotta to what's best for the family...... and so a new chapter beings......
I'll catch up with you all when I get back.
Ciao for now!

90th Birthday Card

Hi folks! Here's a card I made for the in-laws to give to a dear friend who just celebrated her 90th birthday. They didn't want anything in particular just a pretty card. So I thought something from the Giordano Puppies and Kittens CDrom would do the trick.
I printed out the image from the decoupage section and put it together using dimensional glue gel. I added some stickles to the centre of the flowers and some number stickers to the label.

I personalised one of the inserts from the CDrom and adhered it to the inside on top of a scalloped edged sheet.
Ciao for now!
