Bespoke Wedding Card

Hi Folks!
Hope you are enjoying the great weather we are having this Bank Holiday Monday. A friend at work is attending a wedding today and asked if I could make the card. I followed a few challenges for inspiration. The sketch is by the talented DawnyP over on the Papertake Weekly Challenge. Cute Card Thursday has set a theme of 'New Beginnings' and my friend Chris, the Sketching Stamper, has chosen this weeks colours (Ruby, Cream & Gold) on the Colour Create Challenge... I just had to join in this week!
There's lots of Gold Mirri board on this card, all of the matts and the die cut corners in fact. I've used scraps of red patterned paper for matting and for the Martha Stewart border punched layer. The cream card is pearlescent and I have embossed the large layer with a Fiskars texture plate. The lush ribbon was part of my birthday pressie from San (thank you!xx) and I used my Xyron Design Runner (Engraved Font) for the sentiment. The characters are my much loved Hanglar Wedding couple. I have coloured them in with Copic Markers and added a touch of glossy accents to the groom's bow tie and shoes.
Ciao for now!

Sketch Saturday #66

Hi Folks!
Hope you are enjoying the Bank Holiday Weekend. Have you got anything planned?? I'm off to work later but hoping to squeeze in a bit of crafting before I go.
This week, on Sketch Saturday, we are sponsored by The Craft Barn. Sandy is offering 2 gorgeous stamps to the winner. There is also lots of information about the up and coming Craft Extravaganza to be staged in Lingfield on 12th & 13th September. See the list of fabulous demonstrators here..... and yes... I'll be demoing my new range of Kadoodle Christmas stamps there too. If you do manage to get there please come and say 'hello' I would love to meet you.
Anyway, back to my card. I have had this Sarah Kay stamp for ages and this is the first time she has been inked up. I coloured her with my Derwent water colour pencils and cut her out with one of my Nestability labels dies. The patterned papers are from the Daisy and Dandelion Christmas stack. I added glitter to every single snowflake on the snowflake panels. You should be able to see this more clearly if you click on the picture and enlarge it. The large sentiment is by Cuddly Buddly. The small sentiment (so special to me) is a sticker over a metal washer finished off with a pink brad from my Cosmo Cricket QVC kit. I finished off the card with a pink ribbon bow.

Dare U to use 1 ribbon, 2 Patterned papers & 3 Flowers

Hi Folks!
It's a recipe challenge over on 'Dare U 2 Digi Stamp' this week and the recipe is: 1 Ribbon, 2 Patterned Papers and 3 Flowers. I really wanted to make a feature of the flowers so I made up some die cut decoupage flowers from the Wild Asparagus, MME range. I thought it would be perfect to have my Rosabella peaking out through these gorgeous flowers. My creation is really a wall hanging but I found it difficult to photograph on the wall so it ended up on my bed.
Firstly I ripped 2 pieces of patterned paper and adhered to the top and bottom of an A4 sheet of acetate. I then used my Fiskars 'threading water' border punch along the two long sides. I threaded my long sheer white ribbon down one side, along the bottom and up the other side, tying it into a bow at the end. I re-sized, printed out, coloured and cut Rosabella Sitting and placed her on the layout with the flowers. Lastly I printed a picture of my daughter, Isabelle in one of her fairy outfits. I adhered this to the back of the layout. Having looked at it again I think I may add some extra glitter to the tulle on Isabelle's dress, to give it a bit more sparkle...a fairy can never have enough sparkle.
Hope you are able to join us with the recipe challenge.

New Baby Card

Hi Folks!
Here is a card that I have been asked to make for a friend welcoming baby Ruby into the world. I followed the fabulous sketch by Rach over on Just Magnolia. I hope it's ok to enter the card to the monthly Just MagnoliaToo challenge too which is a 3D challenge set by Debby Yates. I have also followed the brown yellow and pink colour challenge over on Basic Grey. I think these colours a just right 'alternative' new baby colours.
I have used Basic grey and Daisy D papers; my Nestabilities and scalloped Nesties too; Funky foam Quickutz corners and some cream ric rac. I used my Xyron Design Runner to create the sentiments and cut the letters from funky foam using my 'Amsterdam' Go Kreate alphabet. I used Copic Markers to colour Tilda. I finished off the card with some tiny buttons.
Please excuse the 'rambled' post, I have friends and family staying this week and I feel sooo gulity snatching a few minutes to post this.
Ciao for now!

Love You!

Hi folks!
It's week 65 over on Sketch Saturday and another fabby sketch by the talented Jo. This week we are sponsored by 'Digital Delights by Louby Loo', the winner can choose $10.00 worth of digital designs. My fellow DT have come up with yet more beautiful cards to inspire you all.
For my card I dug out an old Cosmo Cricket QVC set. I just love the rich warm colours I can play with when I dive into this box. I used my square and Square Scallop Nestabilities, Fiskars deckle edged scissors, Woodware flower punches and Martha Stewart leaf punch. The chipboard sentiment got a bit lost on the card so I looped some sheer polka dot ribbon behind it. Love how it turned out. The character is Popcorn the Bear with his cute little duck friend Souffle. I have coloured them in with my Koi watercolours and added some glossy accents to his eyes and nose. The flower centres are perfect pearls. I used my new Fiskars threading water punch that I bought right at the beginning of my holiday when I went along to a warm and welcoming crop near Ferndown. Not too far from where the Caravan was. I had a fantastic time and met some wonderful ladies.... more about that later!

Butterfly Kisses...

Hi folks!
Well I'm back from my hols and I finished unpacking my craft goodies that I took with me. Thought it high time I checked out what was happening in blog land and made a multi-challenge card. My new Whiff of Joy stamps arrived yesterday... just had to ink up this beauty. I followed the sketch from Sketch and Stash. The Saturday Challenge was for fancy corners. Charisma cardz gave us a colour challenge of Lemon, Green and Pink which were the three colours I chose for the Papertake Weekly Challenge (dated 21/7/09.... they are celebrating their 100th challenge and you can choose any of the previous challenges) I thought these colours were summery enough to also enter my card to the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Lastly, The Pink Elephant also has the theme of Summer this week.
The papers I have used are by Provo Craft. The fancy corners are a Cuttlebug die. The flowers are layered Woodare punches and the leaves are a mixture of Woodware and Martha Stewart punches. The centres of the flowers are glittered dots The tiny butterflies are also Quickutz. I used my Fiskars border punch on the vertical panel and the yellow and pink strips are Doodlebug borders. The character has been coloured with Copic Markers and carefully cut out. I have to admit this character was quite a challenge to cut but I stuck with it. The chipboard sentiment is from my HUGE K&Co embellishment box... (don't faint) I think I've used 2 bits from that box now ;o)

Our Anniversary card & Sketch Saturday #64

Hi folks!
This should be the last of my Scheduled posts. It's a card I intend to give to my gorgeous hubby as it' s our wedding anniversary on 20th and we will be celebrating 15 years. I'm so chuffed with how it turned out, I can't stop looking at it! I followed Jo's fabulous sketch on Sketch Saturday. Please check out the blog for details of this weeks sponsor and prize as I haven't got a 'Scooby-Doo'. Mina is still with us as guest designer and of course I'm am confident that our resident DT have created something wonderful with Jo's sketch.
The papers for this card are all by K&Co. It's the range called 'Margot' I believe. The panel behind Tilda and Edwin is beautifully glittered...a real speciality paper. I cut the large gold Mirri board oval with my Cricut but then I cut out the centre with the largest Nestability oval. I covered the aperture with 3 layers of tulle. The corners are cut with a Quickutz die. The beautiful flowers are brads and were in the 'Margot' kit. I used a Martha Stewart boarder punch to create the scalloped edge. I made the sentiment using my Xyron Design Runner. (Having a bit of a 're-discovery' moment with this little machine... you may see it featured lots more) Tilda and Edwin are coloured with Copic markers. I finished the card off with some lush brown velvet ribbon.
Hope you get a chance to join in with this weeks challenge.

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Colour Challenge

Hi Folks!
Yet another scheduled post. All being well we should be back from our holli-bob's this weekend.
Dare U 2 Digi stamp has a wonderful colour challenge on this week. It's Blue, Green and white or Cream. I'm sure you'll make a better job of it than I have.... bit thin on the ground with the ol' Green. Hope eye's & holly leaves will suffice :o)
The paper is from my really ancient Provocraft stack. I have glittered all the snowflakes on it. I have distressed the edges and stuck it to my card at a jaunty angle. The letters are all from funky foam using my new Quickutz 'dragonfly' font. I used a large snowflake brad in place of the 'o' in snowflake. I embellished the letters and brads with faux blue and clear gems. The large snowflake is a Quickutz 'cut & emboss' die which I have also covered in glitter. Holly has been coloured in with Copic Markers. I have used snow writer & glitter for her fur trim; perfect pearls for the holly berries and glossy accents for her eyes.
That's 2 Christmas cards made and it's not even December yet :oD
Hope you are able to join in with this weeks challenge.
See you tomorrow for my Sketch Saturday DT card.
Ciao for now!

Sketch Saturday #63

Hi folks!
Another scheduled post as I'm still away. If you're reading this, I'm chuffed as it must have worked!! Woo Hoo! There is such a pretty sketch for you to play with over on Sketch Saturday today. Designed by Jo (thanks Hun) and sponsored by Simon Says Stamps. Please hop over to the blog to find out the details of the prize as at the time of writing I am unsure. We still have the wonderful Mina as our GDT, she joins the team in providing you with some fabulous inspiration for the challenge.
For my card I used Cloud 9 papers. These are so lush. The black panel has some wonderful embossing on it... almost feels like rubber. The sentiments are cardstock stickers that came in the Cloud 9 pack. I made the flowers with Woodware punches and some black wire. I made the frame, that the gorgeous Willow is layered on to, by drawing around and cutting out one of my Nestability labels. I finished off the black panel with a ribbon bow and used the same ribbon to create the decorative corners. I coloured Willow with Copic markers.
See you on Friday for my Dare U 2 Digi Stamp DT card.
Ciao for now!

It's my DT week on Sketch Saturday!!

Hello folks!
I'm scheduling this and the next few posts as I'm off on my Holli-bobs today :o) , fingers crossed they all work! It's my DT week over on Sketch Saturday. Jo is having a week off and handed the reigns to me, so to speak. I am also sponsoring this weeks challenge. There will be 5 lucky winners. Each of them winning 3 single digi images from 'Sandra Dry Digi Stamps'. There will be a little wait for the prizes as I will announce the winners upon my return in two weeks. We have also been joined by the talented Mina who is our GDT for August.
You'll be pleased to learn that I'm actually using up some of the older papers I have in my stash mountain. Unfortunately I can't remember where they are from but I thought they would be just perfect for my Holly image. For the top right hand square on the sketch I cut an aperture and put the confetti 'Happy Christmas' greeting on the inside of the card so it shows through. I have put a layer of gold mirri board behind all the panels. I embellished them with sheer ribbon, red self adhesive pearls and QK die cut corners. I coloured Holly with Copic markers. For the fur trim on her coat and hat I used Snow writer sprinkled with glitter, which gives a great texture. I have given her eyes that dewy look with glossy accents.
I hope you have a chance to follow my sketch and enter this weeks challenge. I look forward to coming to see all your wonderful creations as soon as I get back.
Ciao for now!
