'Heat Embossing' Card Challenge

Hello folks!  There's still time to join in with the fantastic card challenge over on Scrapology.  This month we're sponsored by the lovely Marion Emberson of Sugar & Spice Crafts who is kindly offering a set of embossing powders, with carry case for 1st prize and two sets of stamps for 2nd prize (....don't tell anyone I told you but, as I write..... no entries as yet)  So get your embossing powders out and join in with the fun!!  Hop over to the blog if you need any inspiration, my fellow teamies have come up trumps again :o)
I've made a small 4x4 card.  I spritzed the the base card with some turquoise/blue mica mists and layered on a smaller square of card that I had embossed through the Cuttlebug; spritzed with Gold mica mists and inked around the edges.  My first thought when I was presented with the challenge of 'heat embossing' was to use a blob of it (rather like a wax seal) to hold some mulberry torn petals in place.... which is what I did.  I used a waterbrush to wet the shape of the petals on the mulberry paper before gently easing them from the paper.  I lightly inked around the edges of each petal to help with definition.  I had to force myself to eat a Cherry Bakewell (wink, wink) so I could use the little foil pie dish to heat a load of  mustard coloured embossing powder until molten.  I positioned the petals (with a little help from my Herma glue) and dribbled the molten embossing powder on.  While it was still hot I sprinkled on some glitter.
That's pretty much it.  I did try popping on a sentiment but it just didn't look right.... so I left it as is.
I hope you'll be able to join in with our little challenge.
Ciao for now!
