Summer Breeze

Hi folks! Had a great day at Ally Pally yesterday. Totally exhausted, overspent and blissfully happy when I arrived home last night. Had a fabulous time with my crafty buddy.....(Ouchio! that coffee was hot) Hope you are managing to put your feet up today! I am!
Here is a card I made using Joanna Sheen's Marsh Marigold stamp set from the recently launched Water Flower collection. I covered the card with some blue backing paper and inked around the edges. I stamped the image and coloured it with pro markers. I stamped the Heron straight onto the backing paper to retain the ripples of the water. I stamped the bird on another piece of card coloured it and cut it out. I cut the flowers out with the oval Nestabilities and topped onto a scalloped layer of silver mirri board. I adhered the topper to the card and carefully put the Heron in place overlapping the floral panel whilst ensuring the legs were directly on top of the image stamped straight onto the backing paper. I stamped and embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder to to silver mirri board. I die cut the sentiment with a Nestability; cut a couple of slits either side; threaded some ribbon through and adhered to the front of the card.
I added some glitter to the ripples of water and glossy accents to the flowers. I finished off the card with a large ribbon bow.
Ciao for now!

House Mouse 'Sunshine Wishes'

Hi folks! Just one more sleep until I set off for Alley Pally... can't wait! Really looking forward to spending some 'quality craft shopping time' with my buddy... you know who you are (I shall be stalking you for your autograph tee hee)
Here's a card I made using some stamps from the House Mouse Summer stamp design collection. These are from the 'Drinks' plate.
The papers are from my huge DCWV craft chest. I just couldn't leave the sand patterned paper alone so I spritzed it with Gold Mica Spray; screwed it up; flattened it out; gently inked with black brilliance dewdrop pad and tore an apperture in the middle. I coloured the stamped image with my Prisma colouring pencils. The ric rac and zig zag borders are buy Doodlebug. The sentiment is also from the set. I stamped it, die cut it using my Nestabilities and embossed over the whole sentiment with glitter embossing powder. I matted this onto a scalloped layer again die cut with Nestabilities. The umbrella's are also from the stamp set.
I used more of the DCWV patterned paper, stamps and Nestabilities to decorate the inside of the card this time adding a knotted ribbon.
Lots to do before I get some sleep.
Ciao for now!

A berry Happy Birthday!

Hi folks! Hold on to your hats.... two posts in two days, I know... it's unheard of at SDDesigns lately. But I just had to share this little cutie as Joanna has now show cased it on Create and Craft to launch this months new House Mouse stamp designs.
This trio of mischievous mice are from the 'Berry' stamp plate. They have been coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and adhered with dimensional glue gel. It's a small 4.5 x 4.5 inch card which I covered with some purple backing paper and had lightly spritzed with purple Mica Mists. I then Die cut (using rectangle Nestabilities) the frame, decided where I was going to position it and masked the area (using post-it notes) to leave only the aperture area revealed. I then spritzed with more Mica Mists, this time more intensely and using silver and gold. I popped the frame back on using foam pads and positioned the mice using dimensional glue gel. I made a double ribbon bow and wrapped it around the card.
I covered the inside with more patterned paper and again used my Nestabilities and Mica sprays to create the layers. The cute little mouse and the sentiment are both from the stamp plate.
I hope you were able to catch some of Joanna's shows today. The sample makers did an amazing job. It was an extra special show today as Joanna was celebrating her 7 year anniversary with Create & Craft.... here's looking forward to many more!
Ciao for now!

Mermaid Birthday Card

Hi folks! Here's the card I made for my sister. Her birthday was at the beginning of this month. I decided to go for some decoupage and this pretty mermaid.
Quite a simple card to make. I tore some mulberry paper to use for a background I added the layers of decoupage using dimensional glue gel and embellished the final layer with Stickles and Pearlidoodles.
The sentiment is stamped from one of Paula Pascual's sentiment sets and cut with Nestabilities. I finished the card off with a sheer white ribbon bow and some self adhesive pearls.
I'm so sorry I haven't been able to visit you all yet. I'm hoping to catch up with all your crafty makes this week.
Ciao for now!

Christmas Wish List

Hi folks! Goodness! It's been far too long since my last post. My new job is going great, but it's taking me a while to set up some routines and blogging time hasn't quite made it onto the agenda. This is a little notebook I covered using the sweet image from Giordano's 'Winter Wonderland' stamp set.
I sprayed some wine coloured card with gold Mica Mist and adhered it to the front cover of the notepad. I added a layer of pattered paper. I punched a small scalloped border on a small piece of the wine card and adhered it at the top of the notebook. The image was stamped, water coloured, cut out, curled and adhered to the front with dimensional glue gel. The letters were die cut from mirri board using a Go-Kreate alphabet and I cut the photo corners using my WRMK corner chomper. I finished the card of with a sheer ribbon bow.
Hopefully it won't be as long before I post again. I'll try and come and visit your blogs too. Thank you so much for your continued encouraging comments and support.
Ciao for now!

'Santa Stop Here door' hanger

Hi folks! My new job is keeping me very busy at the moment. So much to learn and I've got to do it quickly. I am really enjoying it and my new colleagues are lovely, I am thrilled to report.
Today I am sharing the Christmas Door hanger that I made with the most gorgeously rotund jolly Father Christmas image that I have seen in ages. He's from Joanna Sheen's, Giordano Christmas 'Our Family' rubber stamp set.
I cut a rectangle of deep wine thick cardstock. I sprayed it with cosmic shimmer mists. I added a panel of Christmas Holly paper that I have had in my stash for years. I think it's by Tim Coffey but do correct me if I'm wrong. I used my Nestabilities Circle die to cut the Circle aperture. I added some knots of sheer wine ribbon. I used a small scrap of microflute card, cut into a circle and used on the bottom left corner of the door hanger. I stamped the image and coloured with Copic Markers. I cut it out and added some snow tex to the furry bits. I sprinkled some glitter onto the snow tex white it was still wet. The letters are cut from Gold mirri card and is Go-Kreate alphabet (London). The holly leaves are cut using Quickutz dies and the berries are flat backed beads.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Ciao for now
