Dare U 2 Digi Stamp #5 My very 1st Sketch!

Hi folks!

Welcome to week #5 on Dare U 2 Digi Stamp!  This weeks 'Dare' is a sketch by 'moi'.  I love making cards using a sketch as my starting point but boy, they are not easy to draw.  I take my hat off to those who come up with fab sketches every week.  If you want some inspiration look no further then our talented DT.  I hope you are able to join in as I would love to come and see what you create with my sketch.

I re-sized, cropped and mirrored Chris's digi stamp of Vicky for my card.  She is coloured using Copics and distress inks. I love  how you can change your digi image  to fit your project rather than have to change your project to fit your stamp.  The pretty papers are by Imaginessence.  I have used my Nestabilities to cut the frame and the sentiment is a Bosskut die.  I finished off with some gems and ribbon. Oh, I nearly forgot to say, I cut out a tiny tiara from the patterned paper for Vicky to wear.

I was flabbergasted to see the number of comments I received for my previous card. It was a record for me :o) Thank you all so, so much.  I really appreciate each and every one of them.

Hope you have got fun things planned for Bank Holiday weekend.  I'm afraid life goes on at The Dry residence as both Adrian and I are working over the weekend.

Multi Challenge Card featuring Tara and more Awards!

Hi folks!!

I made this card following quite a few challenges. The First being the great sketch over on Mojo Monday. This weeks Cuttlebug Spot Challenge is to use Bows. Papertake weekly has set a challenge to use Orange, Pink and Brown. The Pink Elephant challenge blog is asking for Ribbons and die cuts and A Spoon full of Sugar is looking out for torn edges.

For this card I used DCWV designer papers, (one of them had all different words for 'Mother' on it) I thought it would make a nice Mother's day card. I die cut the corner flourishes with my Cuttlebug. I think the ribbon came free with a magazine. It's been in my stash mountain for a long time. All the layers are adhered with dimensional glue gel. The beautiful image is one of Chris' new release Digital Stamps. If you haven't used a digi-download before why not consider having a go for one of these challenges. They are easy to use. You can download them instantly (no more waiting for the postie) and one of the greatest advantages is that you can re size them to fit with your project. I coloured the beautiful Tara with koi watercolours and rubbed some 'fruit punch' stickles over the flower petals. I think you can just about see in the close up that I have used glossy accents on her eyes to make the most of her wonderful features. I finished off the card with some self adhesive pearls.

Sketch Saturday #35

Hi Folks!!

Can you believe it's Saturday again?..... How about, were nearly into February? Beats me, the weeks seem to be flashing by lately. Let's not think of nasties like that when there is another one of Jo's glorious sketches on The Sketch Saturday Challenge. A quick card from me today. The papers are Papermania, The buttons and chipboard sentiment sticker I've had in my stash for ages. The swirl stamp was a freebie on one of the current cardmaking magazines, the name escapes me right now but I'm sure one of you will remember before I will. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these freebie stamps and am sure they'll become firm favourites. I have embellished the swirls with ivory pearlidoodles. The gorgeous image is 'Bearing Love' and he is from Sketching Stamper Digi Stamps , the uber talented Christine Dark has opened her own Digi Stamp site.
