Sketch Saturday #51 another Hanglar Wedding

Hi folks!
It's Saturday and time for another one of Jo's fabulous sketches on Sketch Saturday.  This week we are sponsored by All That Scraps, I wish I could enter there is a smashing prize up for grabs.  Our sparkly new Guest Designer for the next two weeks is Janneke.  Janneke and the rest of the team have come up with beautiful designs to inspire you.
For my card I have used DCWV papers; my Fiskars swirly embossing folder; my Martha Stewart doily border punch; my Nestabilities to cut the circles, rectangles and scallops; my Woodware leaf branch punch; a mixture of Prima flowers and paper roses and finally my Quickutz Phoebe, skinni mini, alphabet for the monograms.  The cute wedding couple are a Hanglar & Stanglar stamp and I have coloured them with distress inks.
This card is a commission for my friend who received my previous Hanglar Anniversary card....and it has turned out curiously similar ;o)
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
Ciao for now!

Holy Communion Card

Hi folks!
Thought I'd share this card with you.  No challenges today but a commission instead.  Was asked to make a first Holy Communion card for my friends little boy.  My friend asked for a boy in a suit.  Unfortunately I didn't have any images or stamps that fit the bill so I set about drawing one.
This card is the largest I have made in a long time.  It's larger than A5 yet slightly smaller than A4. The patterned paper is from the DCWV luxury stack.  I embossed some pearl card with my swirly Fiskars embossing plate. The blue scalloped edge is a Doodlebugs paper frill and the ribbon is from my stash.  Lots of silver Mirri board on this card too.  The corners are a Cuttlebug die and I have used a Sizzlets alphabet, 'Night & Day' for the words.
Jake's mum is collecting it later today... hope she likes it :o)
Ciao fo now!

Loupy Lou Kadoodle Candy and Sketch Saturday #41

Hi folks!!
Lots to share with you today so straight down to it! Hope you like the stamped image on this card. She's my very own design, Loupy Lou and here she is 'Just Posin'. The Craft Barn have a huge 1st birthday Fest on this weekend with demonstrators galore for your inspiration. So wish I could be there but it's my long weekend at work :o( Keep reminding myself - I need to work to buy more crafting goodies - so it's not so bad. Please hop on over to the Kadoodle blog where you could be in with a chance of winning Loupy Lou as she's being offered as candy.
Also, over on Sketch Saturday it's Ria's turn to create the sketch. I'm sure you will agree with me that she has done a wonderful job. Thanks Chicken!! The Challenge is being sponsored by Funky Fairys Papercrafts, more details of the fabulous prize on the blog. Don't forget to check out all the great cards created by my fellow DT.
For this card I used papers by My Mind's Eye. For the stripy panel I used a Fiskars border punch and covered the tiny apertures with red and green coloured papers. I then filled them with glossy accents. The stamped sentiment is by Studio G. I punched, inked, shaped and layered the flowers. I used glue gel to adhere and poked in some small bits of dark green ribbon. The flowers were finished off with a self adhesive pearl. I used my Nestabilities to cut the square and scalloped square. Loupy Lou has been coloured in using my Koi watercolours except for her wings where I used art intitute glitter (flax). Just a little bit of chalk around the image to take away the white glare of card and voila! Finito!
Have a great weekend and thank you all so much for your wonderful and much appreciated comment.
Hugs

Sketch Saturday #33

Howdy folks!! Hope you're all keeping warm wherever you are... it's freezing here! This is my card for this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge which is another one of Jo's fabulous sketches. This week has been sponsored by Pink Gem Designs. If you love 'cute' images as much as I do then hop on over to her site and meet the family! If you are quick you can enter for the fabulous candy that's up for grabs at PGD... the draw is tomorrow!
My card is quite simple. I had my big brother in mind when I made it as it's his birthday later on in the month, so no glitter or frills on this one. The papers are American Traditional Designs, The background image is from Alota Stamps. For the sentiment I used my Xyron Design Runner and the stars are brads. I embossed the bottom Green panel with fiskars texture plate 'fabric'. Cowboy Dan is one of my own designs that I drew for the Kadoodle range sold exclusively at The Craft Barn. I'm still playing with my Koi watercolours and that's what I used to add colour to the stamped images.
Please take a look at all the wonderful creations made by my fellow DT. It always amazes me how varied and unique the cards are when we follow the same sketch.
Ta ta for now!
Hugs
