Hello folks! The Easter holidays have arrived and I've finally got a little time to share my take on this months challenge over on Scrapology this month. It's a fantastic design by Steph Devlin. Mine is not a patch on the original... so if you have time hop over and feast your eyes!
I created this page at my most recent retreat with the wonderful Blossom Babes :) The photo is of my daughter Isabelle that I took upon her return home from a friends pamper party. I thought that with make-up and gems on and with her hair styled she looks much older than her 8 years, a sophisticated page was called for.
I used patterned paper from the Gorjuss Girls range and black soot distress ink to stencil through a mask. I had fun die cutting lots of pieces from black, and brown glitter paper for this project. The gorgeous doily stamp and die set that I used above are from Clearly Besotted. I inked around the stamped doily, stamped the sentiment added the tiny gems and paper rose.
The little die cut picture frame was also cut using glitter paper. The large flower came from a Teresa Collins set that I bought ages ago. I used some black lace at the bottom of the page and the verse is just a few stamped sentiments that I thought were appropriate...... I was ultra brave and stamped them straight onto the page! Thanks to my trusty rock-a-blocks, they stamped out perfectly.
I hope you get a chance to to join in with this months challenge. Be inspired by the wonderful pages by my fellow DT found here. There is a terrific prize up for grabs too.
Ciao for now!

Love your take on the sketch and the colours you used. They work really well together for a very "grown up" layout.
